These terms are the agreement between you and Equity Capital LLC, doing business as videoreview, 421 Broadway Unit #338, San Diego, CA 92101 (“videoreview”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using videoreview, you agree to them. If you use videoreview for a business, you confirm you can agree on its behalf.
1. What videoreview does
videoreview lets businesses collect video and written reviews from their customers. You send a link, your customer records in their browser, and you can approve the review, download it, and show it on your website and social media. Paid plans add features such as captions, social clips, quote cards, request emails, a Google review button and your own domain.
2. Your account
You need to be at least 18 to create an account. Keep your login details safe and tell us right away if you think someone else has accessed your account. You’re responsible for what happens in your account, including anything your team members do.
3. Plans and billing
- Free: up to 10 video reviews kept forever, unlimited written reviews, one wall, and a videoreview badge on your record page and wall.
- Starter: $9 per month or $79 per year.
- Pro: $29 per month or $279 per year.
- Agency: $49 per month or $470 per year.
The features in each plan are the ones listed on our pricing page when you subscribe. Prices are in US dollars and don’t include taxes, which we add where the law requires.
Renewal. Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each month or year and are charged to your saved card until you cancel.
Launch price. The $9 Starter price is offered to our first 1,000 paying businesses. If you get it, you keep it for as long as your Starter subscription stays active. If you cancel and later come back after the offer has closed, current prices apply.
Changing plans. Upgrades take effect right away, and you’re charged the prorated difference for the rest of your billing period. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing period. You keep your current plan until then, and the rest of the current period isn’t credited.
Price changes. We’ll email you at least 30 days before a price change applies to you, so you can cancel first if you want to.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, we’ll email you and try again over the next 14 days. If it still hasn’t gone through, your account moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted: reviews beyond the Free plan’s limit are hidden, not removed, and they come back as soon as you pay.
4. Unlimited videos and fair use
Paid plans include unlimited video reviews. Each recording can be up to 3 minutes long. “Unlimited” is for collecting reviews and testimonials from real customers. It isn’t for general video hosting, for uploading content that isn’t a review, or for automated or bulk uploads. If an account’s use clearly falls outside that, we’ll contact you first and may limit uploads or ask you to stop.
5. Your reviews and the people who record them
You own your reviews. The videos and text collected through your account are yours. You give us permission to store, process, copy, convert and display them only as needed to run videoreview for you, for example to play them, make captions and clips, and show them on your wall.
Consent. Our record page asks each reviewer to agree that the business may use their review in its marketing. You’re responsible for using reviews only in ways your reviewers agreed to, and for removing a review if the person who recorded it asks you to.
Honest reviews. You agree to follow the laws and platform rules on reviews and testimonials, including the FTC’s rules on endorsements and reviews. In particular:
- Don’t create fake reviews, or post reviews from people who aren’t real customers.
- Don’t edit a review in a way that changes what the person meant.
- If you offer a reward for recording a review, offer it whether the review is positive or negative, and disclose it where the law requires.
- Show the Google review button to every reviewer, not only happy ones, and never offer a reward for leaving a Google review. Google’s policies prohibit both.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use videoreview to:
- Record or collect reviews from children under 13, or from anyone under 16 in the EU or UK, without a parent’s or guardian’s consent.
- Collect anything illegal, sexual, hateful, harassing or threatening, or anything that violates someone’s privacy or other rights.
- Pretend to be another person or business, or mislead reviewers about who is asking for their review.
- Send spam. Only send request emails to people who have done business with you.
- Upload malware, try to break into the service, or interfere with other users.
If an account breaks these rules or we receive a valid legal complaint about it, we may remove content or suspend the account. Where we can, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
7. The videoreview badge
On the Free plan, your record page and wall show a small “Powered by videoreview” badge. Please don’t hide or remove it. Any paid plan removes it.
8. Custom domains
On Pro and Agency you can show your record page on your own domain, such as record.yourdomain.com. You need to own the domain and set up the DNS records we give you. If you remove those records or the domain expires, your record page goes back to a videoreview.co address.
9. Cancelling and leaving
You can cancel any time from your account settings. Cancelling stops future charges, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for. After that, your account moves to the Free plan.
You can download every video as an MP4 at any time, including after you cancel. If you close your account completely, we delete your reviews and account data 30 days later.
We may close an account that has broken these terms, or one on the Free plan that hasn’t been used for 24 months. We’ll email you at least 30 days before closing an account for inactivity.
10. Refunds
See our refund policy.
11. Changes to the service
We’re always improving videoreview and may add, change or remove features. If we remove something your paid plan depends on, we’ll tell you in advance and you can cancel with a prorated refund for the time you haven’t used.
12. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep videoreview fast, safe and available, but we provide it “as is”. We can’t promise it will always be available or error-free, and we don’t promise any particular number of reviews, sales or search rankings.
13. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to videoreview is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. We aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost sales or lost data.
You agree to cover us for claims made against us because of the reviews you collect or publish, or because you broke these terms.
14. Disputes
If something isn’t right, email us at [email protected] first. We’ll reply within one business day and try to fix it. Please give us that chance before filing a chargeback or a claim.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in San Diego County, California.
15. General
If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about videoreview. We may update these terms. If a change affects you, we’ll email you at least 30 days before it applies. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
